Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus
Forget direct to DVD. This should be direct to landfill.
But it is pretty funny.

Animal Collective on Letterman
Animal Collective usually isn't my kind of music. But their new album is really great.
Will you recognize my face
and I’ve come to be untroubled in my seeking
and I’ve come to see that nothing is for naught
for the more I seek the more I’m sought
yeah, the more I seek the more I’m sought
and you’ve come to know me stubborn as a butcher
and you’ve come to know me thankless as a guest
but will you recognize my face when God’s awful grace
strips me of my jacket and my vest
and reveals all the treasure in my chest?

New Switchfoot - "Vice Verses"
I'm still a big fan of Switchfoot. Although I haven't been in love with some of their newest stuff, I still enjoy it and listen often.
They're coming out with a new album around Aug/Sept. called "Hello Hurricane." Which is exciting news. But what's even more exciting is the fact that they are already working on their album after that as well, to be released early 2010 called "Vice Verses"
And here's Jon Foreman singing the title track:

More Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Heads Will Roll"
Sorry for the current Yeah Yeah Yeahs obsession. They've been on my playlist pretty hardcore lately.

He is Risen!
I stole this from Michial's post. It was so incredible I had to post it here:
Make no mistake: if He rose at all
it was as His body;
if the cells’ dissolution did not reverse, the molecules
reknit, the amino acids rekindle,
the Church will fall.
It was not as the flowers,
each soft Spring recurrent;
it was not as His Spirit in the mouths and fuddled
eyes of the eleven apostles;
it was as His flesh: ours.
The same hinged thumbs and toes,
the same valved heart
that--pierced--died, withered, paused, and then
regathered out of enduring Might
new strength to enclose.
Let us not mock God with metaphor,
analogy, sidestepping, transcendence;
making of the event a parable, a sign painted in the
faded credulity of earlier ages:
let us walk through the door.
The stone is rolled back, not papier-mâché,
not a stone in a story,
but the vast rock of materiality that in the slow
grinding of time will eclipse for each of us
the wide light of day.
And if we will have an angel at the tomb,
make it a real angel,
weighty with Max Planck’s quanta, vivid with hair,
opaque in the dawn light, robed in real linen
spun on a definite loom.
Let us not seek to make it less monstrous,
for our own convenience, our own sense of beauty,
lest, awakened in one unthinkable hour, we are
embarrassed by the miracle,
and crushed by remonstrance.
- John Updike, "Seven Stanzas at Easter"

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs on SNL
I was definitely excited about this show. Not so much for Zac Efron (or at all for that matter, but I was somewhat surprised), but for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Here's the song "Zero" from their new album It's Blitz!:
And an older song (but probably their most popular) from their album Fever To Tell, "Maps":
Not to sound corny, but I love Karen O's smile.
